A tiny little bit of history on a quaint street in Atlanta is the home of The Cabbagetown Market. A homey little shop that sells unique sandwiches, Fresca and some amazing fried pickles. Brimming with vintage charm making it super kawaii!
The walls are lined with collectables and art, some for sale and some for show. You can also pick from a small selection of market goods but mainly it is about what’s on the grill. It was once an actual market, owned and operated by the “Littles” for 70 years. By keeping much of the heart of the original, including the old exterior signage, in it’s new incarnation it has gained a large local following. It has even been featured on the show, Diners, Drive Ins and Dives.
I will have to stop by on a weekend to try out the quail and waffles. They also cater!
Speaking of weekends…… ❀ Have a Happy One! ❀

What a quaint little store. I love that sugar and creamer set. What is the dipping sauce that comes with the fried pickles?
Oh…found out that we do have 5 guys up here!!! We’re going to venture out this weekend to try out the fries ;-))
The dipping sauce was a very good ranch dressing.
I just found this blog and I’m pretty sure I’m in love! Looks like we like a lot of the same books, too. I’ll be following! :)
hhmmm, grilled pickles? I’m just getting used to the option of sweet or unsweet tea now that I’m pretty much living in the south for the first time in my life. I’ll keep my eye out for the pickles, unless they are just a specialty of this little store.
Also, I couldn’t help but notice the yellow and green checkerboard tiled floor. So sweet!
You can find them at a few places it is a fairly popular southern dish. Do you have a “Tin Lizzy” near you. Not sure how big a chain they are, we have a couple here and they sell them. They pretty good but a little salty… and I like salt.
So absolutely wonderful! I’m in love with the Littles:)
And I’m dying now to try the fried pickles, can’t imagine what they would taste like. I’m quite a pickle person!
Love your blog!
